Great party, the group of 10-year old girls really enjoyed it. Good tips provided (eg. that each kid have a flashlight, provide them with notebooks and pencils, it all contributes to the overall mood).

The kids had a blast. I should have taken your advice and limited the party to 2 hours. I scheduled 2 and 1/2 hours to allow time for cake and ice cream, but you had already considered that. We ended up playing a very long game of Chinese telephone to kill time at the end. It was a very successful party! Thank you for making it so easy.

Absolutely amazing detective party! All the kids had a blast. One of the mums said it was one of the best parties that her daughter had ever attended and congratulated me for organizing it!! So huge thanks to you, Leslie for making it easy for my husband and I to dual-handedly entertain 11 kids at a 3 hour party (with no other adults around!).

The "Who Am I?" game was a really great ice-breaker for the girls and boys, since some were my son's classmates but some were friends from outside school. They got to know each other quickly through asking each other questions in the game and that helped everyone to work together in solving anagrams and riddles to find clues in the detective game. The link to the anagram website was very useful in scrambling the kids names for the clue envelopes. I actually gave each child a fingerprinting kit from Alex Toys as their goodie bag present at the start of the detective game so they could use their own kits to take their fingerprints. One girl went home after the party and fingerprinted her whole family!! So it was fun yet educational :-)

I had little time to read through all the instructions in detail, but printed out and hid all the envelopes and other evidence as instructed and everything worked like clockwork. I highly recommend the detective party as it kept our 8-9 year olds sufficiently challenged and entertained and it was a very memorable party. Even my husband and I enjoyed it! :-)

I am tooting your 'party horn' all over facebook! My daughter has proclaimed this year's party as "THE BEST PARTY EVER"! The invitations went out about a week before the party... when the parents RSVP'd they were all laughing talking about their girls being so excited about the upcoming party. One little girl had taken to carrying around a magnifying glass everywhere she went! My kids are big CLUE fans and we have always 'treasure hunted' gifts at Christmas time... this was the ultimate party for my kid! thankyouthankyouthankyou.

The Detective Party was a HIT!!! We did this for my son's 10th birthday party. We had 9 boys including the birthday boy, so we let our daughter read one of the clues and my son read 2 clues (since he was the birthday boy). The boys had such a great time and we had so much fun planning it and playing along with it!

It took about 1-2 hours to get everything printed out and looked over. Would do the party again in a heartbeat! One of the boys said, "You need to do that again next year!" Many of the parents asked how we got it all together. I even had people behind me in the Dollar Tree asking me where I got the idea. I gave them all the website.

We added some things to make the party more exciting. We printed the names of the boys in anagrams on the envelopes, but found a "Ransom Note" font to print on the envelopes. I found some "Undercover Spy Gear" kits at Dollar Tree. They included a "Fingerprinting Kit", "Criminal Profiling Kit", "Color Code Message Kit", and a "Magic Invisible Ink Pen Kit". We also found little LED flashlights on keyrings there. For their goodie bags, we took Gallon sized Ziplock bags and used a Tag maker that said "Evidence Bag". Inside the bag, we put 2 of the Spy Kits, LED flashlight, bag of chips and pack of gum, AND the envelope w/ the clue that that child read. They thought it was great! We also found a foam colorful knife at the Dollar Store that I painted the tip w/ bright red fingernail polish (to look like blood) which I then stuck in the box of laundry detergent.

Such a great party idea and SO WELL THOUGHT out! Thank you SO much for the idea! A party he (and we) shall never forget!

I hosted a birthday party for a group of 12 eight year old girls. I found the riddles to be too long that while one of the girls were reading the others started to loss interest halfway through the riddle. I was not able to sit back and let the girls go through the hunt as your website states. The riddles were a little difficult for this age group that I need to stay with them to help them through.

[NOTE FROM BIRTHDAY PARTY GAMES LADY]Nowhere on the website does it remotely suggest that a parent host doesn't need to remain involved in the party proceeding to help the kids stay on track and nudge them in the right direction when/if required. I can't imagine EVER leaving a group of birthday party kids to complete a game without any adult supervision and/or assistance. If that's what anyone reading this review is looking for, you're in the wrong place.

The kids had a blast with the party. Starting it off with characters first was a hoot. The kids decided to create characters for the adults as well and they loved that they stumped us all for quite awhile. We decided that every party going forward, we'll have characters to start off with.

The kids loved the party and it was great fun to watch them working together to figure it out. We had a hard time containing them in the beginning and the first couple of clues they just ran around looking for clues without thinking about what the message was trying to tell them. Once we got that under control it all went very smoothly. My daughter said it was the best party she's ever been to./p>

Set up was easy, kids enjoyed it... however the kids found some clues out of turn just because they were snooping... and it became a race to run faster out of the room and many kids didn't stay to listen to the whole clue. They were really excited, and really seemed to enjoy it though, and my son thought it was great.
