Mouse Shapes Book 12/03/12
by Leslie Lyons
This looks like a book that should be on every preschool bookshelf as a fun way to introduce math and spatial thinking. And it’s got lots of possibilities for add-on learning fun, like this mouse shape game used in the classroom at teachpreschool.org.
At home, perhaps all you need are the shapes cut out of colorful card stock that your child can then manipulate into different shapes, just like in the book. Challenge your somewhat older child to make drawings using only geometric shapes- applying the concept to artistic creation.
