Living on the East Coast and loving the water and sailing, we’ve always taken the kids to the Mystic Seaport Maritime Museum. One of the things they have are toys and games that kids in a whaling village would have played, and these were always a favorite with my kids. So of course, we always had to buy a new book of old-time paper dolls for the girls every time we went. They must have collected 5 of these each, over the years, and they truly enjoyed them.
Well Disney has given us almost the same thing – 8 Disney Princess paper dolls to cut out and make and then display. A perfect gift for any princesses needing a nice birthday gift that doesn’t cost you much- just the ink. The collection includes Cinderella, Snow White, Tiana, Jasmine, Belle, Aurora, Mulan and Ariel.
The fun in paper dolls is in the making, not so much the playing, so I’d recommend giving these all printed out on cardstock, but not assembled. Include the directions Disney provides with each printout. Purchase a pretty folder to hold all the printouts, which also makes the gift easier to wrap. You might also want to print out a personalized label for the folder, something like “Susie’s Princesses”. (Print out the web address for all 8 of the princess paper dolls and glue it inside the folder, just in case there’s a mistake in cutting one out.)
