Obviously, putting an Octopus together with a Cowboy is a VERY unlikely pairing. And apparently, these authors are known for their off-beat and dry humor. What better birthday party gift than pages full of laughs with Mom or Dad at bedtime!
Cowboy here is a paper doll, and Octopus cut from a comic strip. As in ‘Toy Story’, the two meet in a toy bin and become friends. 7 hilarious and totally absurd short stories chronicle their resulting friendship.

Part of the fun of this book is that Octopus and Cowboy remain as paper cut outs throughout the books illustrations- meaning they are inanimate- and this adds to the silliness and fun.
Any birthday party gift that gives laughter is a good gift. Laughter that can be shared with parents when reading together is even better.

This book is listed for kids 4 to 8 years old. I recommend you read the reader reviews on Amazon- they’re all very positive and would seem to indicate that this book has become everybody’s favorite.
Literacy, friendship, laughs. A great combination for an inexpensive kids birthday gift.
