Summertime, and the livin’ is easy.
Oh- to be a kid again and be able to play in the backyard, go swimming every day, all summer long. And I know all parents are either grateful or jealous of those with kids birthday parties to host during the summer, good weather, outdoor months.
But as I send my daughter off to another country to visit her boyfriend, I’m sure reminded of how quickly it all goes by, and want to remind all of you not to let a single one of the birthday milestones go by without doing your best to make it really special. Pretty soon, it will be boyfriends or girlfriends instead of birthday parties.
Special IS NOT doing the same things you do every day during summer vacation. Adding a pinata and pizza doesn’t turn the same old into anything special either. In other words, summer may be an easy time to host a birthday party that’s outside and won’t mess up your house, but you still need good kids party games and interesting activities to turn in it all into a memorable celebration.
And you need a back-up plan in case Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate with your plans. Include a rain date on your invitations, or choose games and activities that can move inside – even if ‘inside’ is in the cleared out and cleaned out garage.
Unstructured play is a very important part of growing up and childhood. It’s not necessarily the best plan for your next kids birthday party. Check out all the kids party games you’ll find on our website and you’ll see it’s not that hard or time consuming to turn ho-hum into a great party!
