Having written yesterday about my daughter growing up too fast, I got to thinking about how even teenagers still love to do ‘little kid’ type stuff as long as it’s in a socially acceptable situation. And one such situation is as your helper for your next younger kids’ birthday party. Putting your resident or neighboring teenager to work at your party doing face painting on the young ones adds a whole new dimension to your at-home party, without adding alot of expense.
While there are many face-painting books and videos out there to instruct your teen helper, this one looks quite basic and has a nice basic price too. It covers the materials to use, basic techniques and equipment and includes a variety of face painting ideas. One parent suggests in the reviews on Amazon to let the kids thumb through the book and choose the design they want.

Be SURE to have plenty of mirrors around so the kids can admire their decorated selves.
It might work best to get 2 or 3 of these books and 2 or 3 teen friends to all face paint your young guests. That way, you can have a ‘best face contest’ with everybody required to vote for someone OTHER THAN themselves.
Face painting is always a hit with the kids, but people tend to think it’s only for parties hosted outside the home. With a little help from the experts with a book like this, you can add it in at your at-home party just like any other kids party game and make your celebration just that much more special.
