This is a kids party game for all ages that can be tweaked to compliment almost any party theme.
From the attic, the neighbors, your friends or the thrift store, gather together 2 similar bunches of clothing and accessories that go with your theme. Put everything into 2 laundry baskets and get the kids sorted out into two teams. On go, the first child on each team races to the clothes and puts them all on, then races back to his or her teammates, where everything comes off and the next tem member puts it all on. This 2nd child then races to and around the now empty laundry basket and back to his teammates, takes it all off and #3 repeats the process, on down to the last team member. This last participant stops at the laundry basket, removes everything there and puts it all in the basket. First team to re-fill the basket wins. If you’ve got an uneven number of kids, have the birthday child be first on one team and last on the other to even things out.
Here’s some ideas for different themes:
• Luau party: sunglasses, straw hats, Hawaiian shirts, flip flops, leis, grass skirts, bikini tops (if all girls)
• Pirate party: bandanas, eye patches, big white shirts, big boots, ‘booty’ (necklaces and bracelets)
• Winter party: ski jackets, mittens, hats, ski socks, boots, googles, scarfs
• Sports party: cleats, caps, appropriate shirts (baseball, soccer, football, whatever), sticks/gloves/bats
There are almost as many iterations of this game as there are themes. And if you can’t fit clothing to your theme, just use a mishmash of different fun and funny items for the kids to put on and take off- great big shoes, ridiculous hats, hockey gloves, aprons, the sillier the better.
See all our ideas for kids party games on our website- because the games are the make or break of your birthday party.
