Everybody dreams of seeing their name up in lights- even those of us that can’t sing a note or dance a step. They may not be lights, but a birthday banner made out of colorful balloons is a decent substitute and a colorful addition to your birthday party decorations.
You can purchase ‘Happy Birthday Banners’, even personalized ones, but they cost a fair shilling and frankly look mass produced. No need.
Helium filled balloons will sit up there at your ceiling all pretty for a while, but a dot of 3M paint-safe sticky stuff on an air filled balloon will do the same thing, for even longer. So you don’t even need to spend the money and take the time to go get the fancy helium filled balloons. And- with the stickies holding your balloons in place your letters will always be facing forward as they should for the message to be readable at all times. You can even place your air filled balloons in the ‘arc’ pattern that many helium filled banners use.
Take balloons of different colors, that go with your party decor scheme, and with a fancy letter on each balloon in a colored sharpie, write your banner message: “Happy Birthday Sarah” or whatever. Use bubble letters that you can fill in with your sharpies to make them big and bold.
Tie colorful curling ribbon on each balloon that hangs down and looks pretty and adds more decoration to your banner message.
This is one of few super simple and inexpensive birthday party decorations that will make your birthday child feel just that little bit extra special on their special day.
