Because my parties are delivered electronically, and therefore are paper-based, they all involve some degree of reading and following instructions to play the games. Hence, they are NOT suitable for the under 6 crowd.

It's my personal philosophy that this is the age to spend the $$ and take them somewhere to do something they don't often do: the group should be small at these tender ages and that keeps the cost of going somewhere down.

I will (when time allows ) be making instructions for an Olympics party available for kids 5 and early 6. Great for outdoors in the summer- just do relay races, tug of war, the long jump, three-legged races, wheelbarrow races, longest ball throws, etc, and finish up with a rousing game of Red Rover or Capture the Flag. Get or make some tickets to give out as prizes and at the end, the one with most tickets gets to choose their prize, then the next highest, etc. And here's a good and cheap prize idea- certificates that entitle the winner (that's everybody) to "a sleepover at Johnny's house", an afternoon in the park with Johnny, a movie at the theatre with Johnny, ice cream at the ice cream store with Johnny- you get the idea.

I'm sorry I can't help you more with this age group, but do bookmark us to return when you're child is 6- they absolutely LOVE the Survivor Party!!

Or, if he or she is turning 6 within the next 18 months or so, use our reminder form and we'll send you an email on the date you specify to come back then. SEND ME A REMINDER!

The Survivor Party is PERFECT for this age group: fast paced for their shorter attention spans, only one game involves reading and you don't have to include it, it can be done outside or indoors so you're covered if the weather turns nasty, active enough to keep those boys engaged and not causing damage or trouble, a touch of friendly competition to keep them interested. It can be at home, in the park, just about anywhere.
Girls love it just as much as the boys, and it works equally well with a boy & girl group. This is the one party that also works well with a mix of ages since (1)older kids also enjoy it and (2)they can help the smaller ones. Recommended for between 10 and 20 kids, it will just be shorter with fewer than 10 and more chaotic and need more space for more than 20- but it still works well.

Provided they're not yet "too cool" and thinking they're going on sixteen, 8,9 and 10 year olds, both boys and girls and mixed groups, can have a blast with the Survivor Party. Do it inside or out, so you're covered if it rains. Use the backyard, the park, a party space at church or your community center- this one works just about anywhere. Shorter for less than 10 kids, longer and needs more space for over 20 kids- but all sizes work with this party.

8 year old girls, and well into 3rd grade with strong literacy skills, or age 9 and 10 and even kids turning 11*, boys and girls or mixed groups, they'll have a great time with the Detective Party. (Boys on the young end are problematic- attention span issues.) Available for 8 or more, up to 15 kids, or for groups over 20 they'll play in teams of 2. THIS IS THE ONLY ONE OF MY PARTIES THAT'S STRICTLY FOR INDOORS AND FOR A PRIVATE HOME OR APARTMENT- not an outside "party place" or room. If you're thinking of doing your party outside the home because you're concerned about the mess, this Detective party is a VERY "CLEAN" PARTY- they have very little to work with to make a mess!

*Lots of people have used this party for kids turning 11 and I've heard all good reports.

Again, boys on the younger end may not quite be ready for this party (that has to be your call), but both boys and girls, 9 and 10 and even at 11, into Harry Potter or not, have a great time playing the games that make up this Harry Potter Party package. Have your party inside or outside, at your house or elsewhere, for a small group of less than 10 or a large one over 20 or anywhere in-between- it's quite versatile.

Four of the parties meet your criteria- Magica, Detective, Harry Potter, and Survivor. Scroll down for introductory info about each one:

The only one of my parties that's "strictly a girl thing", Magica lets the drama queens do their thing! It's also the only party with a strict guest limit of 10 kids (including the birthday child), or 9 if a little brother wants to play too. Do it inside or out, at your place or somewhere else.

The Medieval Madness Party is designed for MIDDLE SCHOOL kids age 11 and up- it's NOT suitable for elementary school kids. It works with all girls or mixed gender groups, but since boys WILL NOT play female roles, it's a no go for an all boy group. This role-playing party can be done inside or out and at home or outside the home. It comes for groups of 14, 15, 19 or 23- all of which DO include the birthday child but do NOT include the short-lived King (usually Dad). Older kids, even adults can also do this party- there's alot of "meat" written into the characters and the situation. The younger kids use what they want- older ones take it much further and have just as much fun.
